Since 2005, Veja has been making sneakers differently infusing each stage of production with a positive impact. Their supply chain respects both humans and the environment and they prioritize transparency, organic material and fair trade sourcing.

Veja works directly with small Brazilian producers, who are organized into cooperatives of organic cotton and wild rubber from the Amazon.

Suede is the reverse side of bovine leather, which is sanded to give it a soft, supple appearance. It comes from farms in Rio Grande do Sul. It is tanned in Brazil without the use of dangerous or prohibited chemicals. VEJA uses dyes that comply with regulations. Water is used sparingly during the tanning process. This suede is then coated with water-repellent oils free of PFCs (chemical compounds) to protect the sneakers against light rain. The suede is certified Silver by the Leather Working Group.
